Our 2008 Family Day was such a success that we decided to make it an annual event. Hardly much can describe the joy in the faces of all those little children who came and stayed all day last year. Family constitutes the core of the Muslim society.

We plan, inSha'Allah-ur-Rahman, to celebrate and honor this gift of family - one of the greatest gifts that Allah SWT has blessed us with - on Saturday, June 6, with lectures from prominent scholars, delicious international varieties of food, drinks, ice cream, cotton candy, shaved ice, sports and activities geared towards all ages for the entire day. Click on the icon to the left to see the flyer. Please notify your friends and families of this momentous occasion and bring everyone with for an entire day of fun and celebrations with Muslim families from all over the metro Atlanta area.

All thanks and praises are due to Allah - the Soverign of the earth and the heavens! Jaz'kum Allah Khair to you - all the volunteers, supporters, presenters and contributors - who made our December 19 fundraiser a success! The momentous event last night inaugurated our community's will to move forward with our plans to build a new Masjid and community center. Many came forward and made pledges. We count on your pledges and on Allah's - SWT - guidance to turn our dream into a reality. The design concept that was so well-received by all in attendance will remain just that - a design until and unless all these pledges are paid in full and then some. Our work has just begun. We are still quite a distance away from our target of $1MM to break ground. We believe in Allah SWT and we are confident that - with His Help and your generosity, we will, ﺇﻥﺸﺄﺍﷲ, build the new Masjid by December of 2010. To that end, we plan to hold a series of fundraising events during the course of the next two years. Stay tuned. Please register in order to join a growing list of our enthusiastic supporters who are eager to hear about our progress and to see our building project to completion.

Based on eye-witness testimony of moon sightings in Saudi Arabia, UAE, Bahrain, and other countries, Eid will - ﺇﻥﺸﺄﺍﷲ - be celebrated on Tuesday, September 30. Eid prayer will start, ﺇﻥﺸﺄﺍﷲ , at 8:30am sharp at Masjid Al-Momineen. Zakat-ul-Fitr is set at $7 per family member for 2008. Muslims are obligated to distribute this charity before Eid prayers are commenced.

Ramadhan is, ﺍﻟﺤﻤﺩﷲ, right around the corner. Masjid Al-Momineen is cordially inviting all Metro-Atlanta Muslims to two community Iftars on Saturday, September 6, and then again on Saturday, September 20, to celebrate the holy month of Ramadhan and to show our heartfelt gratitude to all Atlanta Muslims who helped us build our parking lot.

We held, ﺍﻟﺤﻤﺩﷲ, our first annual Masjid Al-Momineen Family Day on April 27, 2008. It drizzled throughout the day forcing us to hold most of the activities inside a large tent on masjid grounds. The glitter in the children's eyes and the smiles on their faces clearly indicated how much fun they were having. The menu featured all kinds of food and appetizers as well as a variety of drinks. Despite the incessant rain, the event was considered a great success by the organizers and the guests alike. We look forward, iSA, to hold this event annually going forward. Masjid Al-Momineen is forever indebted to so many volunteers for all of their efforts throughout the last 2 to 3 months - from planning to execution.
