Building for the future of our Youth!
C O N S T R U C T I O N
Allah, SWT, has blessed the Muslim community in Clarkston and Stone Mountain with Masjid Al-Momineen for the past two decades. The existing structure is over 110 years old.
We have held over a dozen fundraising events in the past and have managed to raise enough money to pay for the monthly expenses, to acquire and maintain the current properties, and to finish Part I of our New Masjid Construction Project (see the table below). We have spent over $1.2MM thus far towards property acquisitions, maintenance (excluding operational expenses) and building of the Parking Lot. The following table outlines our New Masjid Construction Project parts in summary:
| Part I: Property Acquisitions, Maintenance and Parking Lot Construction - Completed | $1,200,000 |
| Part II: Landscaping, Architectural Plan, Ground Breaking, Foundation, Plumbing, Electrical, HVAC - In Planning | $800,000 |
| Part III: New Building, Decoration, Furniture | $2,500,000 |
| Total Construction Cost | $4,500,000 |
| Immediate Financial Need to Start Phase II | $82,000 |
We have already obtained the zoning and land use permits. Additionally, DeKalb County has also approved our site plan. Part I of the New Masjid Construction Project has been completed as of October, 2008. With Guidance from Allah, SWT, and assistance from sincere Muslims, we are planning, ﺇﻥﺸﺄﺍﷲ , to proceed to phase II.
Special thanks go to the Matrix Engineering Group and Br. Amin Tomeh for managing all the construction efforts from A to Z. We could not have achieved our goal of building the parking lot without his tireless efforts, professionalism, honesty, and generousity. We also would like to thank the AB General Construction firm and Br. Ruben for a job well done and for being so very kind and patient with us.
Construction work of the New Masjid has been divided into 3 phases as you can see from the table above. Phase I has been, ﺍﻟﺤﻤﺩﷲ, completed. We are now focusing on landscaping the land and on commissioning the draft of the architectural plan as parts of phase II. Phase II cost is estimated at over $800,000. We need your Du'a, cooperation, and donations.
All donations are fully tax deductible. Masjid Al-Momineen is registered as a 501(c)-3 non-for profit religious organization. (TAX ID can be furnished upon request .) We will, ﺇﻥﺸﺄﺍﷲ , send you a receipt as soon as we receive your donation.
