Ramadhan Karim!

START DATE, IFTAR, TARAWIH, SADAQA AL FITR

According to the Fiqh Council of North America, the first day of Ramadan 1440 is on Monday, May 6, 2019, in Sha’ Allah.

However, please visit the Masjid website starting on Saturday after Maghrib for the official announcement. If you subscribe to the Masjid Twitter account, you will receive an automatic Tweet about the Ramadan start time and other important future events. Iftar is served nightly followed by Tarawih prayers. The first Tarawih prayer will start on the night before the first day of Ramadan, in Sha' Allah. Sadaqat-ul-Fitr is $8 per family member to be distributed before Salatul-Eid.

IFTAR SPONSORSHIP

If you wish to sponsor Iftar meals this Ramadan, you can do so in a number of ways:
1) If you plan to bring cooked meals, click here, fill out a short form online, schedule your desired date(s), and indicate how many people are you willing to feed. Typically, 350 people partake in Iftar dinners on weeknights and 400 people on weekends. If you cannot accommodate a full night, you can indicate on the form how many meals you can prepare. If you cannot for a full night, that is ok. We can schedule others to take part on your nights. ALL CHICKEN and MEAT MUST BE HALAL.

2) If you wish to donate towards Iftar meals, you can do so directly and securely online right now by clicking on this PayPal link. It costs us $4.50 to pay for one meal. We serve as many as 350 guests on weeknights and 400 on weekends. Hence, one full night's sponsorship costs $1,575 Sun-Thu, and $1,800 Fri - Sat.

3) You can also send checks to:

Masjid Al-Momineen
P.O. Box 1289
Clarkston, GA. 30021

Indicate in the Memo Line on the check that the donation is for Iftar.

MONTH OF CHARITY

The best of Sadaqah is given during the month of Ramadan. Ibn ‘Abbas narrated: “The Prophet SAW was the most generous person, and he used to become more so (generous) particularly in the month of Ramadan." [Bukhari]

As you welcome Ramadan 1440 into your home and heart this year, cease the opportunity to please Allah SWT even more. Donate generously towards completion of the New Masjid. Our fundraiser last month generated almost $100,000 in cash and another $100,000 in commitments. We also borrowed (in the form of Qarth al-Hassanah) $100,000 in March to remain on schedule with the construction schedule. Unfortunately, we are unable to open the new building this Ramadan. We need your urgent support to complete the project as soon as possible.

PERPETUAL CHARITY

Your donation will be used exclusively to complete the new Masjid. That is Sadaqah Jariyah - ongoing charity as defined by the following Hadith: The Prophet SAW said: “When a man dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (such as a well of clean water, Masjid, hospital, Islamic charitable organization, etc.), knowledge which is beneficial, or a virtuous descendant who prays for him (the deceased)”.
