JAPAN TSUNAMI
It was not a very long time ago when we experienced a large scale calamity on our own shores. Hurricane Katrina proved to be disastrous in so many ways resulting in huge losses of life and property. One year earlier, the 2004 Indian Ocean Tsunami killed over 230,000 people in no fewer than 14 countries and caused severe devastations. In October of 2005, more than 76,000 people were killed in Kashmir as as result of another earthquake.

SPRING IS ALMOST HERE
Another Spring, and time to reflect on the last four seasons of our lives...time to look forward, inSha'Allah, to the freshness and promise of all that is good and beautiful this season - all reminders of Allah's endless bounty on His creation on earth! Have you ever wondered that no two flowers are the same...that no two leaves are the same...that no two trees are the same...out of a gazillion of each specie...that every living thing is uniquely testifying to Allah's Jalaal (Majesty) and Ikraam (Glory). He, Subhaanahu wa Ta'aala, promises in 55:27 - "There remainth but the Countenance of thy Lord of Majesty and Glory." Indeed all else in this world perishes. The change of seasons serves as a reminder of the Faani (ephemeral) nature of this life and of our revival in the next.
